Comforting Apple Crumble/Crisp Bake at 160C / 320 F /gas 3 23 X 23 cm For the filling; 4 cooking apples 100g sugar 35ml water For the topping; 340g White Flour 225g Butter 110g Sugar Method; 1. Peel, core,slice and place the apples in a saucepan with the sugar and water. 2. Cover with a lid and cook on a medium heat, stirring often, until just about soft (5/7 minutes) 3. Remove from the heat and leave to cool slightly while you make the topping. 4. To make the topping; Rub the butter into the flour until resembling rough breadcrumbs, stir in the sugar. 5. Place the cooked apple mixture into an ovenproof pie dish. 6. Sprinkle the topping over the cooked apples to cover them completely. Add a shake of cinnamon if you fancy it. 7. Bake in a pre-heated oven at 160C for 35/40 mins or until the crumble is a medium golden colour. 8.
