Candy Apple Recipe 4 cups Sugar 2 cups Light Corn Syrup 1 1/2 cup of water In a medium to large pot mix in sugar syrup and water mix until equally combined at 6 - 10 drops of gel food coloring at three drops of white gel food coloring. Mix all ingredients well until you do not see any color or white leftover. Make sure candy thermometer tip is not touching the bottom of the pot this could give an inaccurate reading to your mixture. Candy mixture should cook until thermometer reads 280 once it reaches this temperature remove from Heat letting the bubbles settle before dipping apples. Once bubbles have settled in the mixture do a spoon test to see if your color is still transparent if so apply small amount a gel food coloring two mixture then you're ready to dip once bubbles have settled after adding color to the candy mixture. NOTE: at times at the end of the mixture coloring may need to be added if color still looks transparent COLOR: Wilton Leaf Green icing color COLOR: Chefmaster White Gel food color
