HASSELBACK APPLE RECIPE - How To Make Tasty Hasselback Apple Dessert!
Hi scandai friends! Welcome toScandinavian Today. My name is Karen Grete,
and I like to make up to date as wellas traditional Scandinavian food, and
today I'm going to, well ,and actually Ihad to tell you. In the past I made
Hasselback potatoes, and of course Hasselbackwas a restaurant in Sweden, and
they made them around 1950for the first time, and they became very
popular ,and of course now besides makingHasselback potatoes, we can also make
Hasselbeck apples, which I'm going to dotoday. And I think you would like it, it's
a delicious dessert, so let's start it. I'mgoing to use two large apples and about
two and a half tablespoon of butter, which I already melted, then I have a
quarter cup of sugar,I have an eighth cup of oatmea,l 1
teaspoon of cinnamon, 1 teaspoon of flour,a pinch of salt and a little oil.
Actually let's mix the melted butterwith the sugar as well as the cinnamon,
and I'm going to pour that on the apples, after I have them sliced, peeled and
sliced of course.
And of course I don't want to slice itall the way through, okay.
And then I will put it in the dish,so you can either spray our pourl oil on
the pan you're going to bake the applesin. Just make sure it's all around ok.
And now I put the apples in here, it fitsperfect, and I then add the melted
butter, and it givs it a wonderful flavour.
And of course you can try to, if youwant make sure you get the cinnamon in
the center, just open a little bit alittle one in there, and I now cover with
aluminum foil.. I'm going to put it in theoven, and the oven has been set at degree
of 400F, and I'll bake it for about 20minutes,and then I'll take it out of the
oven and continue. So after 20 minutes I took them out of the oven. I removed
the foil, and now I'm putting them backin the oven for another 10 minutes, so
they get nice and brown. While the apples are in the oven, I mixed
about one and a half tablespoon ofbutter with three tablespoons of sugar,
half a teaspoon of cinnamo,n the salt, flour as well as the oatmeal, and I mixed
this all up. So I just took them out ofthe oven again, and of course you can
tell it's nice and bubbly. Here I put onthe oatmeal on top, and of course you can
scoop some of the melted butter, and nowthey can go back in the oven for another
10 minutes, and I guess I am NOT going tocover them up. And here we have the
apples all finished. Nice and bubbly andhot of course, and you can tell, you know
I have sliced it now, it's baked, anddivided, you know like this here you see it's
all nice and soft and delicious. So it'stime to taste the Hasselback apple, and
of course I like to serve it with a scoopof ice cream on the side, and this is of
course a delicious dessert. The apple isnice and soft, great, goes so good
together with the ice creammmm
very good, I love the combination of thecinnamon and the oat meal as well as
the Apple mmmthe combination is so good really
delicious, and I'm sure you will also like it.
